May, 31st : A sober day.

 I am now 58. From 18 to 58, I really drank enough alcohol for 3 or 4 lifetimes. And over that 40 years, it was not just the case of me MANY times drinking too much, too often, but my drinking caused problems, sometimes big problems. My goal is to stay sober from today till 30th November, next year, 2022; when I will be 60 years of age.  Advantages of not drinking: I can manage my diabetes properly. I will have a greater peace of mind. I will save a LOT of money. I will be a better husband. I will be a better Christian. I will eventually sleep better. I will much, MUCH less often say and do stupid things - that I regret; and I will much less often make a fool of myself. I am much more likely to not lose any friends. At the end of 3 months sobriety and at the end of 6 months, 12 months and 18 months sobriety I will feel great, knowing I’ve achieved something very important.   P ostmodernism is mostly just a form of artistic criticism, but conservative intellectuals are constantly attacking it these days. Liberals are perplexed by the attacks, if they think about them at all. What the heck is going on?
