Certain modern beliefs and views that are at best simplistic and often nonsense....

Postmodernists, intersectional feminists and critical race theorists did not invent the idea that society and culture can strongly influence how we think and speak.

There IS often truth in claiming certain types of knowledge are to varying degrees social constructs BUT some can take this truth, and this insight, and be so EXTREME in how they understand this truth AND how they will act based on their exaggerated and extreme understanding of knowledge and morality and “truths” etc all being social constructs - and it can be taken to the level of insanity in being so radically sceptical of obtaining any objective truths. Intellectual madness can result in seeing the biases of white, western, heterosexual males embedded all over the place in all the different knowledge produced in Western Europe and USA from about 1650 to about 1950. Some knowledge is simply knowledge. The maths and physics which gives us everything from modern transport to satellites to our cell/mobile phones etc can be understand, appreciated and applied by, for example, a gay Asian man, a black trans woman, a Muslim Arab woman a bisexual Hispanic and so on.....There IS a reality that is out there that just hasn’t been created by words, by discourse (ie by how we talk about things).....

Also, how crazy was it for postmodernists (and those they influenced like modern intersectional feminists and critical race theorists etc) to be SO VERY sceptical of the notion of progress !!

In functioning Western democracies, is it mostly better today in 2020 to be female or gay or black compared to back in 1920 ?

(To be continued...)
